Open Board Positions:
There are a number of open board positions with secretary and treasurer to be filled asap if possible. The Women of Today year runs from May 1st to April 30th. CandI, our Gold Team Buddy shared a few insights on the duration of board positions. She said that 2 year terms are not recommended because of burn out. A 1 year term on a rotating basis was recommended instead. Tina said she would be willing to continue on as the group’s president, but that she would let the group deicide at a later date.

Training:
Candi also shared information with us about an upcoming training for the various board positions.
The LOTS (Local Officer Training Seminar) event will be held on Sat., May 3rd in Albany. The cost is $12.00 for advance registration and that amount includes lunch and materials.

New Meeting Night?
Several members have expressed concern over the Tuesday night meeting. Many are not able to make it because of other obligations. An informal poll was taken and the best alternative night based on the input received would be the 1st Wednesday of the month. Candi asked that it not be the 2nd Wednesday of the month, otherwise she would not be able to make the meetings. She also explained that before a change can take place, the Chapter’s bylaws have to be reviewed. If there is a by law referring to this type of change, a 30-60 day notice would be required as well as a 2/3 majority vote. If there is no mention of this issue in the bylaws, only a 50% vote would be needed.
ACTION:  Tina will review the bylaws and keep the group up to speed. A new meeting night could be implemented as soon as April.

Yearly Planning Meeting:
A planning meeting will be held in the next 2-3 weeks.
ACTION:  Tina will poll everyone by e-mail to see what day and time work best. The meeting will last about 1-2 hours. It will most likely be held at a coffee shop. Sati was recommended as a possible meeting location. The items on the agenda will center on planning for the upcoming year. Topics to be discussed will include volunteer projects and tentative dates as well as future socials and chapter growth. The meeting will happen before our next member monthly meeting March 11th.

Area Meeting:
Flyers for the District 8,9, 10 and 11 Area Meeting were passed out. The meeting will be held in Golden Valley on April 4th starting at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $7.00. RSVP by March 31st to Vicki Rockwell at DD09@mnwt.org.

Thanks to Kim for taking and typing up the meeting minutes. GREAT JOB!!!!

All my best,
President Tina Altman
